SP Zubiri naghain ng resolusyon para sa pagkilala kay Biazon
Inihain ngayon araw ni Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri ang Senate Resolution No. 652, bilang pagkikilala sa yumaong Senator Rodolfo “Pong” Biazon.
Nakapaloob din sa resolusyon ang mensahe ng pakikidalamhati ng Senado sa pagpanaw ng 88-anyos na dating senador.
Naging miyembro ng Mataas na Kapulungan ng Kongreso si Biazon noong 1992 – 1995, 1998 – 2004 at 2004 – 2010, bukod sa naging kinatawan sa Kamara ng Muntinlupa City noong 2010 – 2016.
Isinalarawan ni Zubiri si Biazon na “steadfast champion of decent and affordable housing and of security and defense.”
Susi din si Biazon sa pagiging batas ng Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003, ang Rental Reform Act of 2002, ang Comprehensive and Integrated Shelter Finance Act of 1994, ang AFP Modernization Act, ang pag-amyenda sa Presidential Decree No. 1752 (Mandatory PAG-IBIG Fund membership) at ang Home Guaranty Corporation Act of 2000.
Pinamunuan niya ang Senate Committee on National Defense, ang Senate Committee on Security at ang Committee on Urban Planning, Housing, and Resettlement.
“I had the good fortune of working closely with Senator Pong Biazon on measures such as the Magna Carta for Homeowners and Homeowners Associations, and I saw firsthand how meticulous and hardworking he was, as a legislator,” pagbabalik tanaw ni Zubiri, na nakasama sa Senado si Biazon noong 2007 hanggang 2010.
Magkakaroon ng necrological service para kay Biazon sa Senado sa Lunes, Hunyo 19.
