Email scammers ginagamit ang Globe sa phishing modus, kontra SIM Registration Act
Binigyan babala ng Globe ang kanilang mga subscribers ukol sa paggaya sa email ng kanilang official communication kaugnay sa SIM Registration.
Ilan sa mga mapanlokong mensahe na ang layon ay makuha ang mga sensitibong impormasyon ng subscribers ay; “Please click (link) to register again” at “Reprocess your registration after three days to avoid total deactivation of your SIM.”
“We’ve become aware of such deceptive communications and we strongly advise our customers to ignore and block these messages, which are a malicious misuse of the new SIM Registration Act,” pahayag ni Anton Bonifacio, ang lChief Information Security Officer ng Globe.
Layon ng mapanlinlang na email ay kontrahin ang SIM Registration Act, na ang layon ay matuldukan na ang ibat-ibang uri ng cybercrimes sa pamamagitan ng mobile phones.
Suportado ng Globe ang naturang batas sa pamamagitan ng pinadaling sistema at proseso ng pagpaparehistro ng SIM tulad ng GlobeOne app, ang Globe SIM registration microsite o sa pamamagitan ng GCash app para sa mga may fully verified GCash accounts.
Nanawagan si Bonifacio sa mga customer na iparehistro ang kanilang SIMs sa pamamagitan lamang ng official SIM registration platforms ng Globe.
“These are our only accredited channels for SIM registration. If you receive any message related to SIM registration, always verify its origin and refrain from clicking any suspicious links,” pagbibigay-diin pa ni Bonifacio
Hanggang noong Hunyo 7, ang Globe ay nakapagtala na ng mahigit 45.252 million SIM registrations, o halos 94.92 percent ng active subscriber base nito.
