Makikiisa ang Manila Cathedral sa paggunita sa ika-125 na anibersaryo ng Araw ng Kalayaan sa Hunyo 12.
Ayon sa ulat ng CBCP News, “open house” ang Manila Cathedral sa side chapels, crypt, at choir loft mula 9:00 ng umaga hanggang 6:00 ng gabi.
“The open house aims to make the people appreciate the Manila Cathedral’s rich history and contributions to culture,” pahayag ni Msgr. Rolly dela Cruz, rector ng Manila Cathedral.
“By making those otherwise-restricted areas accessible to the people, they will hopefully appreciate the effort that went into its reconstruction,” pahayag ni Msgr. dela Cruz.
Mayroong libreng guided tours mula 10:00 ng umaga hanggang 3:00 ng hapon para sa mga nagnanais na malaman ang kasaysayan ng cathedral.
Mayroong misa ng 7:30 ng umaga at 12:10 ng tanghali at “Pipe Organ Mini-concert” ng 9:30 ng umaga at 1:30 ng hapon.
Ito ang unang pagkakataon na magiging open house ang cathedral mula nang tumama ang pandemya sa COVID-19 may tatlong taon na ang nakararaan.
