More Power na kusang nagbalik ng bill deposit refund sa customers dapat tularan- Rep Baronda

Pinuri ni Iloilo Representative Jam Baronda ang naging inisyatibo ng More Electric and Power Corporation(More Power) na kusang ibalik sa mga customers nito ang kanilang bill deposit na hindi karaniwang ginagawa ng mga Distribution Utilities(DUs). “We commend More Power for taking the lead in giving back the bill deposits of its consumers who have complied with the requisites,” pahayag ni Baronda. Ang bill deposit ang  paunang binabayad ng mga customer sa pag-aaply ng linya ng kuryente. Alinsunud sa Article 7 ng Magna Carta for Residential Electric Consumers may obligasyon ang mga DU na isauli ito kung sa loob ng tatlong taon ay nagbabayad sa oras at hindi naputulan ng kuryente ang isang customer. Gayunpaman, sa probisyon ng batas ay hindi ito kusang ibinibigay ng mga DU bagkus ay kailangan na i-apply ang bill deposit refund mismo ng mga customers. Bunga nito, hinimok ni Baronda ang iba pang DUs na gayahin ang pinasimulan ng More Power na hindi na nag-antay na magsumite pa ng aplikasyon ang kanilang mga customers bagkus sila mismo ang tumawag sa mga “eligible customers” at pinapunta sa kanilang tanggapan para tanggapin ang refund. “We call on other distribution utilities to effect the provision of the Magna Carta for Residential Electricity Consumers on the refund of bill deposits by informing and reminding their consumers of this as they might have already forgotten their deposit,” pahayag ni Baronda. Sinabi ni Baronda na may oversight power ang Kamara para silipin kung nakakasunud ang mga DUs sa pagpapatupad ng bill deposit refund. “We will also look into the exercise of Congressional oversight by asking for reports of compliance from the DUs,” giit pa nito. Una nang sinabi ni  More Power President at CEO Roel Castro na nasa P5 million bill deposit refund ang nakatakda nilang isauli ngayong taon sa mga eligible customers na nagbabayad sa tamang oras. Samantala, pumasok na sa isang joint venture agreement ang More Power sa pamamagitan ng subsidiary nito na Primelectric Holdings, Inc. para sa pagpapalakas ng supply ng kuryente sa lalawigan ng Negros. Nasa P4 billion ang ibubuhos na pondo para sa modernisasyon ng Central Negros Electric Cooperative(CENECO), P2 billion ang ilaan sa pagbili ng asset habang ang P2 billion ay para sa capital expenditure program. “The substantial investment will improve power supply and distribution services to the people across the CENECO franchise area, which serves over 200,000 customers,” pagtatapos p ni Castro.
