Muling magsisilbing host ang Quezon City sa Pride PH’s Pride Festival.

Tema ngayong taon ang Love, Laban:  A Celebration of the Fight for Love in All Forms and Ways.

Ayon kay Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, full support ang lokal na pamahalaan sa  Pride Festival na gaganapin sa Hunyo 24 sa Quezon Memorial Circle.

“We are grateful that we have the local government of Quezon City as one of the biggest allies of the LGBTQIA+ community. This is the second year that the local government of Quezon City has welcomed us into their home. And we have been blessed to have the support of Mayor Joy, who has been a consistent genuine ally of the community since day one” pahayag ni Mela Habijan, Miss Trans Global 2020 at lead convener of Pride PH.

Ang Pride PH ay isa sa pinakamalaking network ng LGBTQIA+ at organizer ng QC’s Pride Festival.

Isang araw na event na ito na may tatlong aktibidad. Ito ay ang Pride Expo, Pride March, at Pride Night.

“More than a celebration, the Pride Festival is a call to end the discrimination, hate and prejudice among members of the LGBTQIA+. We are holding this activity not because this sector is seeking special treatment. Rather, what they long for is simply a halt to the undeserved ill treatment and denial of opportunities they continue to suffer from,” pahayag ni Belmonte.

May gagawin din Pride marches sa Makati, Baguio, Quirino, Cagayan De Oro, at Cebu.

Mayroon ding regional Pride Marches sa Zamboanga, Romblon, at General Santos City.

“The pride marches are seen as safe spaces that provide a venue to push for equality and inclusivity. And while these festivities remain celebratory, Pride is still a protest and should remain so.  Not until the LGBTQIA+ community no longer needs to fight for their human rights, their right to love, and the freedom to be their true authentic selves,” pahayag ni Habijan.
