Minority Senators Koko, Risa aabangan ang pagkuwestiyon sa SC sa MIF
Nagpahiwatig na kanyang kahandaan si Senate Minority Leader Aquilino ‘Koko’ Pimentel III sakaling may kumuwestiyon sa pinalusot na Maharlika Investment Fund bill ng dalawang kapulungan ng Kongreso.
Ayon kay Pimentel maaring kuwestiyonin ang batas sa Korte Suprema.
“For those planning to do this, I will make myself available as source of some facts, information, arguments,” ani Pimentel.
Samantala, si Deputy Minority Leader Risa Hontiveros ay nagpahayag ng suporta sakaling idulog sa Korte Superema ang Maharlika Investment Fund.
“According to Section 16, Article XII of the 1987 Constitution, GOCCs must pass the test of economic viability and our economic experts have raised plenty of arguments that cast doubt on whether the MWF has passed or even be subjected to this test,” diin naman ni Hontiveros.
Tiniyak din ng senadora na tutukan niya ang implementing rules and regulations ng MIF para matiyak na hindi maaalis ang mga prohibisyon, partikular na ang paggamit sa pera ng mga miyembro ng Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) at Social Security System (SSS).
