GSIS bahala na kung maglalagak sa MIF – Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Walang intensyon si Pangulong Marcos Jr. na gamitin ang state pension funds bilang paunang pondo ng Maharlika Investment Fund.
Sa panayam kay Pangulong Marcos sa anibersaryo ng Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) sa Pasay City, sinabi ng Punong Ehekutibo na walang dapat na ipag-alala ang publiko.
Gayunman, sinabi ng Pangulo na bahala na ang GSIS kung kung ilalagak ang pondo sa MIF.
“I perfectly agree. We have no intention of using ng pera – kukuha tayo ng pera ng pension fund. That’s not the it’s a – okay. How do I explain this? We will not use it as a seed fund,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“However, if a pension fund, which is what pension funds do is they invest. If the pension fund decides the Maharlika Fund is a good investment, it’s up to them if they want to invest in it. So not only pension fund but corporations. Mga fund — iyan lang ang ginagawa nila pinapalaki nila ang pera nila para mayroon silang maibigay,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“GSIS, this is precisely what they have been doing. They are making sure they are very solid, that they are very stable so that all the payments that they need to give out. So we have to differentiate those two things. But no, we will not use it as a seed fund. We will not use pension fund as a seed fund,” sabi ng Pangulo.
