Dalawang bagong barko ng Philippine Navy, gagamitin sa pagpapatrolya sa West Philippine Sea
Gagamitin ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang dalawang bagong barko ng Philippine Navy para magpatrolya sa West Philippine Sea.
Ayon sa Pangulo, ito ay para maipakita na patuloy na nagpapalakas ang Pilipinas sa kapabilidad sa usapin ng seguridad at depensa.
Sabi ng Pangulo, gagamitin din ang mga barko sa search and rescue operation pati na sa relief operations.
“Oh yes, oh yes. Lahat ‘yan ginagamit talaga natin pang-patrolya, hindi lamang sa West Philippine Sea kung hindi doon sa civil defense,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
“So, all the duties, they are already — since they have already been commissioned then talagang ito ay isasama na natin sa imbentaryo ng ating mga barko para gagamitin, both for the defense from external forces and also for civil defense sa pagtulong sa mga disaster na nangyayari dito sa Pilipinas,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Sa pagdalo ng Pangulo sa ika-125 anibersaryo ng Philippine Navy, sinaksihan ng punong ehekutibo ang commissioning sa dalawang bagong Israeli=made fast attack interdiction gun boat.
Ito ay ang BRP Gener Tinangag at BRP Domingo Deluana.
Nakikipagsabayan na aniya ang Pilipinas sa mga kapitbahay na bansa sa Asya pagpapalakas sa naval assets.
“So, talagang patuloy ang capabilities natin. The division — there is no need to divide between the forces that are going to be used for external — for defense against external threats and for those used for civil defense,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
