8.7 milyong Filipino ang walang trabaho noong Marso

Halos 19 porsiyento ng adult labor force ang walang trabaho hanggang noong nakaraang Marso, ayon sa ocial Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

Nangangahulugan na 8.7 milyon ang walang trabaho sa bansa sa nabanggit na buwan.

“This was 2.3 points below the 21.3% in December 2022 and 7 points below the 26% in April 2022. However, it was still 1.5 points above the 17.5% in December 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic,” ayon sa SWS.

Maliban sa Mindanao, nabawasan ang bilang ng mga walang trabaho sa bansa.

“Compared to December 2022, the quarterly joblessness fell from 24.8% in Metro Manila, 23.1% in Balance Luzon, and 18.6% in the Visayas. However, it hardly moved from 18.1% in Mindanao,” paliwanag sa resulta ng survey.

Ang mga walang trabaho ay ang boluntaryong nag-resign, ang first-time jobseekers at ang nawalan ng trabaho dahil sa kondisyon ng ekonomiya.

Naitala ang pinakamataas na unemployment rate noong Hulyo 2020, kung saan 45.5 porsiyento ng mga adult Filipino ang walang trabaho at bumaba hanggang sa 18.6 porsiyento noong Oktubre ng nakaraang taon.

Isinagawa ang survey noong Marso 26 hanggang 29 at may 1,200 adult respondents.
