Loren sinabing hindi dapat i-demolish ang nasunog na Central Post Office
Sinabi ni Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda na hindi dapat tuluyang buwagin ang nasunog na Manila Central Post Office.
“We should not take down the building but consider adopting the concept of adaptive reuse, that instead of destroying our heritage structures, we can restore them and use them for a new purpose. This is already being done in Intramuros, and there is no reason why it cannot be done in other parts of the country,” aniya.
Dagdag ni Loren ang dapat gawin ay alamin ang puno’t dulo ng sunog na tumupok sa naturang gusali sa Plaza Lawton.
Dapat din aniya ay maglaan ng pondo para sa conservation management plan, structural integrity studies, at restoration and retrofitting.
Maari din ikunsidera, dagdag pa ng senadora, na ipagbili na lamang ang gusali sa National Museum o sa ibang kinauukulang ahensiya ng gobyerno.
Aniya maghahain siya ng resolusyon para sa pangangalaga at proteksyon ng mga makasaysayang istraktura sa bansa,
