Ulan ng habagat bubuhos dahil sa “super typhoon”

Posibleng mapaigting ng “super typhoon” na nasa Pacific Ocean sa kasalukuyan ang pag-ulan dulot naman ng habagat, ayon sa Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

“Sa ngayon ay maliit pa ang tsansa na mag-landfall ito sa kalupaan ng Pilipinas pero mas tinitignan natin posible itong mag-trigger ng pagpapalakas ng hanging habagat o southwest monsoon by Sunday or Monday,” sabi ni weather specialist Obet Badrina.

Dagdag pa niya; “Next week ay posibleng maulan lalo na sa bahagi ng western sections of Luzon and Visayas, at maaaring umabot din sa Mindanao.”

Huling namataan ang super typhoon Mawar  sa distansiyang 2,215 kilometro silangan ng  Visayas kayat nasa labas pa ito ng Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

Napanatili nito ang lakas ng hangin na 185 kilometer per hour malapit sa gitna at bugso na aabot sa 230 kilometro kada oras.

Tinataya na papasok ito sa PAR sa darating na Sabado, Mayo 27 at tatawagin itong “Betty.”
