BFAR gustong matuloy pa ang fishing ban sa Mindoro oil spill hit areas

Nais ng  Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) na magpatuloy pa ang  fishing ban sa anim na bayan sa  Oriental Mindoro na apektado ng oil spill mula sa lumubog na MT Princess Empress.

Ito ay matapos madiskubre na may mga bakas pa ng langis, grasa ar kemikal sa dagat na sakop ng Calapan, Naujan, Pola, Bansud, Gloria, at Pinamalayan.

Ang tubig sa mga naturang bayan ay delikado pa sa kontaminasyon, ayon sa BFAR.

“The latest analyses of the DA-BFAR showed that varying levels of oil and grease and PAH (polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons) contaminants were present in water and fish samples across all sampling sites in the province,” ayon sa ahensiya.

Maari naman nang mangisda sa dagat na sakop ng mga bayan ng Bongabong, Bulalacao, Mansalay, Roxas, Baco, Puerto Galera, at San Teodoro.

Binabalak ng BFAR na magpalabas ng P117 milyong halaga ng emergency and relief assistance at para sa pagbangon ng mga naapektuhang mangingisda.
