Panukalang pag-amyenda sa AFP fixed term pinirmahan na ni PBBM
Inaprubahan na ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. ang panukalang amyendahan ang batas kaugnay sa pagtatakda ng fixed term sa mga matataas na opisyal ng Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
Base sa inamyendahang Republic Act 11939, mababawasan ang fixed term ng mga major service commanders sa dalawang taon mula sa tatlong taon.
Ito ay ang Philippine Army Chief, Philippine Airforce Chief at Philippine Navy Flag-Officer-in Command, ayundin ang PhIlippine Military Academy (PMA) Superintendent.
Mananatili naman sa tatlong taon ang fixed term ng tour of duty ng AFP Chief of Staff.
Nakapaloob din sa pagbabago ang pagpapalawig pa ng isang taon sa serbisyo ng mga may ranggong 2nd lieutenant o ensign hanggang Lt. General o Vice Admiral.
Mula sa 56 , magiging 57 na ang retirement age ng mga nabanggit na ranggo.
Nilagdaan ng Pangulo ang pag-aamyenda ng RA 11709 kahapon, samantakang Abril 2022 naman nang lagdaan ni dating Pangulong Duterte ang Republic Act No. 11709 na nagbigay ng fixed term sa AFP officials.
