Villanueva sa TESDA: Palakasin ang enterprise-based training
Pinagbilinan ni Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva ang Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) na palakasin pa ng husto ang enterprise-based training (EBT) o ang mga programa ng mga kompaniya.
“We keep saying that EBT is the best way to improve outcomes and employability, yet we have not increased the number of graduates in this modality. We want to know the barriers to entry for EBT and how these barriers differ by industry”, sabi ni Villanueva sa alignment meeting ng Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM 2) at TESDA.
Binanggit pa ng senador na sa kabuuang bilang ng TVET graduates, apat na porsiyento lamang ang mula sa enterprise-based training.
Napalaki ng agwat aniya kung ikukumpara ito sa 46 porsiyento na nagtapos naman sa community-based training.
Sinabi pa niya na sa nakalipas na limang taon ay hindi nagbago ang bilang.
Magugunita na pinamunuan ni Villanueva ang TESDA noong 2010 hanggang 2015.
Ngayon ay co-chairman siya ng Standing Committee on TVET at Lifelong Learning.
