Seguridad sa pagkain sa SEA binanggit ni PBBM sa ASEAN Summit
Labuan Bajo, Indonesia – Humihirit si Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa mga kapwa lider na kasapi ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) na bigyang prayoridad ang food self-sufficiency at security sa rehiyon.
Sinabi ito ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., sa ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) at aniya magagawa ito papamagitan ng mga inobasyon.
Sabi ng Pangulo, sentro sa pag-unlad sa ekonomiya ng ASEAN ang kapayapaan sa rehiyon.
Aniya maaring matiyak ng mga kasapin ng ASEAN ang food security sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng mga makabagong teknolohiya pati na ang paggamit sa smart agriculture at food systems.
“As such, the Philippines supports ABAC’s proposal on strengthening food security, promoting sustainable production, enhancing information systems, and identifying nutrition-enhancing agriculture mechanisms for sustainable ASEAN food systems. I would like to reiterate the commitment of the Philippine Government to work with the private sector to advance ASEAN’s goals and objectives,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Kinikilala naman ng Pangulo ang kahalagahan ng pribadong sektor para makamit ang naturang mithiin.
“In a region with citizens who are enthusiastic adopters of digital solutions that are reshaping the way our countries do business, we must capitalize on such assets as e-commerce and digitalization to advance the trade agenda, enhance cross-border trade, and foster economic integration,” pahayag niya.
