Pangulong Marcos Jr., pinuna ang tumatandang populasyon SEA Region
Labuan Bajo, Indonesia – Nababahala si Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa tumatandang populasyon sa Southeast Asian region.
Ito ang unang pagkakataon na tinalakay ng isang regional leader ang ageing population sa 42nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit Plenary Session, dito.
“Decades of sustained economic growth and prosperity has resulted in longer lifespans in ASEAN. According to the Asian Development Bank, one out of four people in the Asia Pacific will be over the age of 60 by the year 2050,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.
“I think therefore it is time that ASEAN should start discussing the concerns of an ageing population, consistent with the ASEAN tradition of valuing our elders,” sabi pa niya.
Dagag pa nito, dapat tingnan ito na oportunidad at hamon.
Dapat din aniya na tiyakin sa ASEAN goals at work plans ang kalusugan ng mga matatanda pati na ang pagbibigay ng ligtas, may dignidad at produktibong buhay.
