Ph, US, Australia joint patrols sa WPS posible ngayon taon
Maaring sa pagpasok ng huling kalahati ng taon ay maisasakatuparan ang joint patrols ng Pilipinas at US sa West Philippine Sea.
Sinabi ni Philippine Ambassador to US Jose Manuel Romualdez maaring makasama pa sa joint patrol ang Australia.
“We are already… continuing discussions on this joint patrol with the United States and I think Australia also is to be coming in. A guesstimate would be no later than the third quarter of this year we should have that in place,” ani Romualdez sa panayam sa telebisyon.
Magugunita na sa pagbisita ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., sa US, nabanggit nila ni President Joe Biden na inaasahan nila ang “trilateral cooperation” kasama ang Australia sa pagtitiyak sa seguridad art kapayapaan sa rehiyon.
Noong nakaraang Pebrero, kinumpirma ng Australia ang pakikipag-usap ukol sa magkatuwang na pagpapatrulya sa WPS kasama ang Pilipinas.
Kabilang ang Australia sa mga unang bansa na kumondena sa paggamit ng military-grade laser ng China Coast Guard sa Philippine Coast Guard sa Ayungin Shoal.
