Washington, D.C.- Tulad ng isang ordinaryong tao, nababahala din si Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa mga ginagawa ng China sa South China Sea.
Ibinahagi ni Pangulong Marcos ang kanyang damdamin bago harapin sina US Vice President Kamala Harris at US Second Genlteman Dough Emhoff sa Vice President Official Residence sa US Naval Observatory dito.
“As concerned as you could possibly be,” tugon ni Pangulong Marcos sa tanong ng isang mamahayag.
Sabi ng Pangulo, isa itong malaking isyu na kailangang harapin sa pag-uwi sa Pilipinas.
Nang tanungin naman ang Pangulo kung nakatutulong ang kooperasyon nina US President Joe Biden at Harris para protektahan ang rehiyon, sagot ng Pangulo, “well, cooperation with the United States certainly is just something that we are building upon that has been going on for many, many, many decades.”
Sa maiksing pag-uusap nina Panguong Marcos at Harris, pinasalamatan ang Pangulo dahil mas malakas na ang relasyon ng dalawang bansa ngayon.
“I want to thank you because the strength of the alliance between the United States and the Philippines is probably stronger now. And through your leadership we have been able to continue to do the work that we have that is a priority around our mutual prosperity and security,” dagdag ni Harris.
Nobyembre ng nakaraang taon nang bumisita si Harris sa Pilipinas at napag-usapan nila ang kahalagahan ng “clean energy economy.”
