Magpapatupad ang Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) ng anim na oras na “airspace shutdown” sa darating na Mayo 17.
Ayon sa CAAP, simula alas-12 ng hatinggabi hanggang ala-6 ng umaga ang “airspace shutdown.”
Gagamitin nila ang pagkakataon para sa “maintenance activities” upang maiwasan na ang mga aberya sa mga paliparan.
Isasagawa na rin ng CAAP ang upgrade air traffic management system, pagsasaayos sa automatic voltage regulator, at pagpapalit sa uninterruptible power supply.
Ipinaliwanag ni Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Sr. Asst. Manager Bryan Co na pinili nila ang naturang oras upang walang masyadong aktibidad ang maaapektuhan.
“For six hours, wala talagang activity sa ating airspace. CAAP is saying it could happen na mas maiksi, pwedeng shorter. Pero as far as planning is concerned, we’re planning six hours,” ani Co.
