Pagbuo sa Anti-Smuggling court isinusulong ni Sen. Cynthia Villar
Nais ni Senator Cynthia Villar na maamyendahan ang Anti-Smuggling Act.
Sa pagdinig ng Committee on Justice and Human Rights, sa pamumuno ni Sen. Francis Tolentino, binanggit ni Sen. Cynthia Villar, ang pagbibigay ng ngipin sa naturang batas.
Nais din niya na kasuhan ng economic sabotage ang mga nagmamanipula ng presyo, nagtatago ng mga produkto at ang mapapatunayang bumubuo sa cartel.
Ito, ayon sa namumuno naman sa Commitete on Agriculture, ay upang hindi makapag-piyansa ang mga makakasuhan.
Nais din ni Villar na magtalaga ng anti-smuggling court, para sa mga kaso na may kaugnayan sa smuggling.
“In 2016, Congress passed RA 10817 “ The Agris Smuggling Act” which I authored. The cut of amount to be declared as economic sabotage and non-bailable if P10M for rice and P1M for other Agri-products. I read in the papers of smuggling of more than cut off amount and yet no smugglers was charged with economic sabotage,” ani Villar.
Binanggit din nito na sa kasagsagan ng krisis sa suplay ng sibuyas, kung kailangan humataw hanggang P700 ang presyo kada kilo, masasabi na may hoarding, price manipulation at cartel.
