Marcos sa mga Filipino sa abroad: Umuwi kayo at magretiro sa Pilipinas

Washington, D.C.-Pinagsusumikapan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na ayusin ang Pilipinas.
Ito ay para mahikayat ang mga Filipino sa abroad na umuwi ng bansa at magretiro.
Sa talumpati ng Pangulo sa meeting sa Filipino Community sa Washington, sinabi nito na umaasa siya na makauuwi ang mga Filipino sa abroad na mas maayos na ang Pilipinas.
“It’s my hope that some of you will come home for good and retire in a much better Philippines— a Philippines with better airports, Philippines with better roads, better airports, better internet, better governance. ‘Yun ang aking pinapangarap. And that’s why that is what my administration is working for,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Sabi ng Pangulo, prayoridad ng administrasyon na pangalagaan ang kapakanan ng mga overseas Filipino workers.
“We are strongly committed to pursue the third pillar of our foreign policy, which is assistance to Filipino nationals,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
Isa sa mga hakbang na ginawa ng Pangulo ay ang pagpapatupad at ang pagtataguyod ng Department of Migrant Workers na pinangungunahan ni Secretary Susan Ople.
Layunin nito ay pagsamahin at palakasin ang lahat ng ahensya ng gobyerno na may mandatong protektahan at isulong ang karapatan at kapakanan ng mga OFW.
Ito po ang ating pagbisita sa Washington, D.C. na siyang capital ng bansang Estados Unidos, para pagtibayin ang ating security, defense, economic, culture, at people-to-people ties na tinatawag.
Hinikayat din ng Pangulo ang mga anak at mga apo ng mga Filipino sa Amerika na umuwi ng bansa at magsama ng mga kaibigan.
“Let them see for themselves what the Philippines is about, what is our culture, what is our history. I’m sure the first and second and third generation Filipino-Americans are more than happy to learn about their proud Philippine ancestry,” pahayag ng Pangulo.
“Sooner or later, we will be able to welcome you back home to the Philippines, especially those who have reacquired their Filipino citizenship,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Nasa Amerika ang Pangulo para sa liang araw na official visit.
Kasama na rito ang bilateral meeting kay US President Joe Biden.
