US trade and investment mission sa Pilipinas inanunsiyo ni Biden
Washington, D. C. —Sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, magpapadala ng trade at investment mission si US President Biden sa Pilipinas.
Ginawa ni Biden ang pahayag sa bilateral meeting nila ni Pangulong Marcos Jr. sa Oval Office sa The White House dito.
Sabi ni Biden, malakas ang partnership at malalim ang pagkakaibigan ng Amerika at Pilipinas, sabay pangako na palalakasin pa ng Amerika ang suporta sa Pilipinas sa ibat ibang usapin gaya halimbawa ng climate change mitigation at ekonomiya.
“We’re tackling climate change, we’re accelerating our countries’ chances… and we’re standing up for our shared democratic values and workers’ rights… and together we’re deepening our economic cooperation,” sabi ni Biden kay Pangulong Marcos.
Tinalakay din ng dalawang lider ang usapin sa edukasyon at seguridad.
Nagkaroon din ng pagpupulong ang mga miyembro ng gabinete ni Pangulong Marcos at ng kanilang mga counterparts sa expanded bilateral meeting sa White House.
Kabilang sa mga kasama sa expanded bilateral meeting sina National Security Adviser Eduardo Ano; Defense Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr.; Environment and Natural Resources Sec. Antonio Yulo Loyzaga; Trade and Industry Sec. Alfredo Pascual; Department of Information and Communications Technology Sec. Uvan John Uy; Justice Sec. Jesus Crispin Remulla; Migrant Workers Department Sec. Maria Susana “Toots” Ople at Foreign Affairs Sec. Enrique Manalo.
Ito na ang ikalawang pagkakataon na nagkausap sina Pangulong Marcos at Biden. Una ng nagkita ang dalawang lider sa sideline ng 77th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) noong September 2022 sa New York.
Pagkatapos ng bilateral meeting ngayong araw, bibisita ang Pangulo sa Pentagon bukas.
