Biden to Marcos: I can’t think of a better partner to have than you
Washington, D.C.- Walang ibang naiisip si US President Joe Biden na better partner kundi si Pangulong Marcos Jr.
Pahayag ito President Biden sa bilateral meeting kay Pangulong Marcos sa Oval Office sa The White House, dito.
“You know, when we met in New York last year, you told me that the strong alliance has to continue… while we face the challenges of this new century. And we are facing the challenges and I can’t think of a better partner to have than you,” pahayag ni Biden.
Binigyang diin ni Biden ang aniya ay ironclad na pangako ng Amerika para depensahan ang Pilipinas.
“The United States remains ironclad in our commitment to the defense of the Philippines, including the South China Sea and we’re gonna continue the Philippines’ military modernization,” pahayag ni Biden.
Dagdag pa nito, malalim ang pagkakaibigan ng dalawang bansa.
“Beyond that, there are also issues, geopolitical issues that make the region the Philippines is, possibly, arguably the most complicated geopolitical situation in the world right now,” pahayag ni Biden. “And so it is only natural that — for the Philippines to look to its sole treaty partner in the world, to strengthen and to redefine the relationship that we have and the roles that we play in the face of these tensions that we see now around the South China Sea and the Asia-Pacific and Indo-Pacific region, ” pahayag ni Biden.
Sa panig naman ni Pangulong Marcos, sinabi nito na naging kumplikado na ang geopolitical situation sa buong mundo.
“Beyond that, there are also issues, geopolitical issues that make the region the Philippines is, possibly, arguably the most complicated geopolitical situation in the world right now.And so it is only natural that — for the Philippines to look to its sole treaty partner in the world, to strengthen and to redefine the relationship that we have and the roles that we play in the face of these [rising?] tensions that we see now around the South China Sea and the Asia-Pacific and Indo-Pacific region, ” pahayag ni Pangulonh Marcos.
Kaya sabi ng Pangulo, isang malaking oportunidad para sa kanya na mabisita si Biden sa White House at talakayin ang mga mahahalagang isyu.
“We have many things that are new that need to be assessed and again our role as partners in the world — in our worldview of what we are hoping for the future of peace, not only in the Asia-Pacific and Indo-Pacific region but in the whole world,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos..
