Nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang isang executive order na lilikha sa Water Resources Management Office (WRMO).
Sa ilalim ng Executive Order No. 22, nasa ilalim ng Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ang WRMO.
Layunin ng EO na ayusin ang ginagawa ng pamahalaan para matiyak na sapat ang water resources sa bansa.
“The WRMO is mandated to ensure the immediate implementation of the Integrated Water Resources Management in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, and formulate a corresponding Water Resources Master Plan (IWMP),” saad ng EO.
Una rito, sinabi ng Pagasa na makararanas ng El Nino ang bansa.
“To avert water crisis, minimize and avoid conflicts, and consistent with the State’s sole ownership and control over the country’s water resources, it is imperative for the Government to integrate and harmonize the policies, programs, and projects of all relevant agencies in the water resource sector in the fulfillment of their complementary governmental mandates,” saad ng EO.
Pamumunuan ang WRMO ng isang Undersecretary na itatalaga ng Pangulo.
