Deactivation ng social media services ng unregistered SIM, pag-aaralan
Inaalam na ng National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) kung may basehang legal ang pag-deactivate ng mga serbisyo, kasama na ang social media access ng mga ayaw magpa-rehistro ng kanilang Subscriber Identity Module o SIM cards.
Sinabi ni NTC Deputy Comm. Jon Paulo Salvahan nakikipag-ugnayan na sila sa public telecommunication entities (PTEs) para madetermina kung maaring ikasa ang naturang plano.
“We are continuously discussing the legal and technical feasibility of these proposals. We expect it to released soon, hopefully if not within this week, by next week, we can have a final study or at least a resolution on that matter,” ani Salvahan sa panayam sa telebisyon.
Nabanggit niya na ginagawa na ito sa ibang mga bansa.
Sinabi naman ni Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Sec. Ivan John Uy binabalak nila na magbigay ng insentibo kapalit ng pagpaparehistro ng SIM dahil marami ang hindi sineseryoso ang deadline sa pagpaparehistro.
Ayon kay Uy mag-oobserba sila sa bilang ng mga magpaparehistro sa 90-araw na extension at kasunod na nito ang pag-deactivate nila sa SIM card services, kasama na ang Facebook at TikTok accounts.
Nakasaad naman sa RA 11934 o ang SIM Registration Act ang automatic deactivation ng SIMs kapag hindi ito naiparehistro.
