Sinaksihan ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang ceremonial contract signing ng North-South Commuter Railway Project-South Commuter Section sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang.

Magsisilbi itong third phase ng NSCR System.

Ayon sa Pangulo, pagtupad ito sa kanyang pangako na paiigtingin pa ang pagpapatayo ng mga imprastraktura sa bansa.

Sabi ng Pangulo, ngayong nalagdaan na ang kontrata, magiging full swing na ang implementasyon ng programa.

“As the civil works for these contract packages commence, we expect not only the generation of more than 2,000 jobs but also the creation of other opportunities and livelihood during its construction,” pahayag ng Pangulo.

“Most importantly, the completion of the full NSCR line will bring greater convenience for our commuters. It will offer an efficient and comfortable transport alternative that spans the great distance, connecting Pampanga to Manila and then to Laguna,” dagdag ng Pangulo.

Ayon sa Pangulo, hindi lamang luluwag ang daloy ng trapiko sa Metro Manila kundi mapabibilis pa ang transaksayon at magkakaroon ng waulity at maayos na pamumuhay ang pamilyang Filipino.

Tiyak din aniyang lalakas ang economic activities sa interconnected regions at maitataguyod pa ang environmental sustainability at public health.

Pinasalamatan ng Pangulo ang Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) sa pagiging palagiang partner sa mga programang pang-imprastraktura ng bansa.

Pinasalamatan din ng Pangulo ang kontribusyon ng Acciona-DMCI Joint Venture, Leighton-First Balfour Joint Venture at ng local government units.

Nasa P873.62 bilyong pondo ang inilaan para sa NSCR System na 147.26-km railway project na magkokonekta sa Clark, Pampanga at Calamba City, Laguna.

Mayroon itong 35 istasyon at tatlong depots na kinabibilangan ng original NSCR Project na Malolos-Clark Railway Project (MCRP), and the South Commuter Railway Project (SCRP). CPs S-02 and S-03b are part of the SCRP.

Ang railway system ay bahagi ng flagship project ng administrasyon sa ilalim ng “Build Better More” program.

Kapag nakumpleto ang proyekto sa taong 2029, kaya itong makapagsakay ng 800,000 na pasahero kada araw.

Sa halip na apat na oraas, magiging dalawang oras na lamang ang biyahe mula Clark International Airport patungo ng Calamba City, Laguna.
