Halaga ng kuryente posibleng tumaas dahil sa tag-init
Maaring tumaas ang singil sa kuryente sa susunod na buwan dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng pangangailangan bunga na rin ng mainit na panahon sa bansa kasabay ng paghahanda sa El Nino.
Paliwanag ni Isidro Cachio Jr., ng Corporate Strategy and Communications ng Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines (IEMOP), dahil sa El Nino maaring maapektuhan ang suplay ng enerhiya, partikular na ang mula sa hydropower plants.
“This year we expect the impact of El Nino din, especially I think in the latter part of May, June or July,” aniya.
Nabanggit nito na ngayon taon, nahigitan na sa katulad na panahon ng nakaraang taon ang konsumpsyon sa kuryente.
Gayunpaman, tiniyak ni Cacho na may sapat na suplay ng kuryente sa bansa sa pagsasabing: “We foresee a sufficient level ng supply natin. We don’t expect much impact in terms of supply.”
Magiging stable naman ang halaga ng kuryente sa pagpasok ng panahon ng tag-ulan sa Hunyo.
