NDRRMC: 46 probinsiya mararamdaman ang lupit ng El Niño
Maraming bahagi ng bansa ang makakaranas ng matinding epekto ng El Niño sa mga darating na buwan.
Ito ang ibinahagi ni National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) Executive Director Ariel Nepomuceno sa isang panayam sa telebisyon.
Tinukoy niya ang mga lalawigan ng Cavite, Ilocos Norte at Bataan na maaring lubos na makaramdam ng epekto ng El Niño.
Una nang bumuo ang NDRRMC ng El Niño Team para sa pagtugon ng gobyerno sa epekto nito.
Ang grupo ay pamumunuan ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), kasama ang Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Energy (DOE), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), National Irrigation Administration (NIA), at Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS).
“There are several points that we need to address. We need to prepare for the possible worst-case scenario and identify and harmonize short-term solutions, medium-term, and long-term solutions,” ani Nepomuceno.
Inaasahan na mararamdaman na ang epekto ng El Niño sa Hunyo at titindi ito hanggang sa unang tatlong buwan ng susunod na taon.
