Mediaman panalo sa “labor row” sa national broadsheet
Inatasan ng National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) ang pamunuan ng national broadsheet na The Daily Tribune na bayaran ng kaukulang benepisyo ang dating reporter na si Gab Humilde Villegas.
Naghain ng reklamo si Humilde Villegas laban sa pahayagan matapos madiskubre na hindi binabayaran ng kompanya ang kanyang Social Security System, PAG-IBIG at Philippine Insurance Corporation ng mahigit isang taon.
Ipinag-utos din ng NLRC sa Daily Tribune na bigyan ng Humilde Villegas ng 13th month pay.
Nabatid na si Atty. Noel Neri ng Pro-Labor Legal assistance Group ang nagsilbing abogado ni Villegas.
Ikinalugod naman ng National Union of Journalists of the Philippines (NUJP) ang naging desisyon ng NLRC.
Pinaalalahan din ng NUJP ang mga may-ari ng media organizations na igalang ang karapatan ng mga mamahayag.
