Reporma sa military pension ikinakasa

Target ng pamahalaan na baguhin ang sistema ng pensyon ng mga retiradong sundalo at iba pang uniformed personnel sa bansa.

Ayon kay Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno, ito ay matapos ang pulong sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang kasama si Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Defense Secretary Carlito Galvez at Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos.

Ilan sa mga reporma na nais na baguhin ang receipt of pension sa edad na 57 taong gulang, mandatory contribution para sa active personnel at mga bagong pasok na military at uniformed personnel, pagtatanggal ng automatic indexation ng pension sa ranggo ng mga magreretiro at application of reform sa lahat ng mga active personnel at new entrants.

Paliwanag ni Diokno, kailangan na ipatupad ang reporma bago pa man magkaroon ng fiscal collapse.

Sinabi pa ni Diokno na mas malaki pa ang pondo na inilalaan ng  AFP sa pensyon kaysa sa pagbili ng mga gamit.

Sakop ng reporma ang mga kagawad ng Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Public Safety College, Philippine Coast Guard at Bureau of Corrections.
