11.1 M bata target ng DOH na mabakunahan kontra tigdas
Babakunahan ng Department of Health (DOH) ang may 11.1 milyong sanggol at bata, mula edad zero hanggang 59 buwan, ng proteksyon laban sa tigdas.
Sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire magsasagawa sila ng measles supplemental immunization activities sa Mayo.
“We have around 11.1 million children who are zero to 59 months old—ito po yung ating target na gusto nating bakunahan,” ani Vergeire.
“Pero out of this 11.1 million children, meron po tayong specific na mga bata na less than two years old na ito po talaga ang ating pakay para hanapin sila kasi ito yung critical period where they receive their measles vaccines,” dagdag ng officer-in-charge ng kagawaran.
Natigil ang pagbabakuna ng dalawang taon kontra tigdas dahil sa pandemya dulot naman ng COVID 19.
Base sa huling impormasyon, may 164 kaso ng tigdas ang naitala mula noong Enero hanggang Marso 4.
Mas mataas ito ng 531 porsiyento kumpara sa naitalang 26 kaso sa katulad na panahon noong nakaraang taon.
