7 Tau Gamma members kakasuhan ng paglabag sa Anti-Hazing Act
Ipinag-utos ng state prosecutors ang pagsasampa ng mga kasong kriminal kaugnay sa Anti-Hazing Act of 2018 laban sa pitong miyembro ng Tau Gamma Phi fraternity sa sinasabing responsable sa pagkamatay ni Adamson student John Matthew Salilig.
Ang mga kaso ay isasampa sa Binan City regional trial court (RTC) at ang mga kakasuhan ay sina Earl Anthony Osita Romero, Tung Cheng Benitez Teng, Jerome Ochoco Balot, Sandro Dasalla Victorino, Michael Lambert Alcazar Ricalde, Mark Muñoz Pedrosa, at Daniel Delos Reyes Perry.
Ang paglabag sa batas na humantong sa kamatayan ay may kaparusahan na habambuhay na pagkabilanggo.
Ang mga kaso ay base sa reklamo ni John Michael Salilig, kapatid ni John Matthew at Roi Osmond dela Cruz.
“In finding probable cause against the respondents, the panel explained in its resolution dated 13 March 2023 that all of the above-mentioned respondents planned and actually participated in hazing the recruits by way of paddling. The complainants were likewise able to establish that the injuries sustained by John Matthew Salilig led to his death,” ayon sa DOJ.
Namaytay si Salilig noong Pebrero 18 matapos sumailalim sa ‘welcoming rites’ sa isang bahay sa Barangay Casile.
Natagpuan ang kanyang bangkay makalipas ang 10 araw sa Imus, Cavite.
