2 miyembro ng NPA assassin squad timbog sa Philippine Army

(29th IB, Philippine Army) Naaresto ng Army 29th Infantry ‘Matatag’ Battalion ang dalawang rebeldeng-komunista sa Barangay Kauswagan sa Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte.   Kinilala ang dalawang na sina Regie Ligan alias Khod, 20, ng RTR, Agusan del Norte at Gabriel Sagay, alias Onemig, ng Butuan City.   May kasong attempted homicide si Ligan, samantalang attempted murder naman ang kinahaharap ni Sagay.   Nakumpiska sa kanila ang isang kalibre .45 na baril at isang .9mm na baril at hinihinalang shabu.   Ayon kay LCol. Cresencio Gargar dahil sa mga rebelde napapag-iwanan sa pag-unlad ang Agusan del Norte.   “This accomplishment is the result of the joint efforts of the troops and intensified intelligence operations. With this, I am calling to the remaining members to surrender while there is ample time to do so, the government is waiting and we are always happy to assist your return to the fold of the law,” ani Gargar.
