18 containers ng sibuyas itinago sa pizza dough at fish balls, nabuking

Nadiskubre ni Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Bienvenido Rubio na mga smuggled na sibiyas ang laman ng 18 containers sa Manila International Container Port (MICP). Nabatid na hiniling ni Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS-MICP) Field Office Chief Alvin Enciso ang   physical examination ng mga containers sa pagdududa na may mga smuggled items na nakatago. Idineklara na naglalaman ng pizza douigh at fishablls ang containers bagamat may impormasyon mula sa China na may smuggled products sa loob. Maging ang idineklarang pizza doughs ay walang permit at lisensiya mula sa  Food and Drug Administration (FDA) at ito ay paglabag sa vRA 9711 o ang  Foods and Drugs Act of 2009. Nagpalabas na si District Collector Arnoldo Famor ng Warrants of Seizure and Detention (WSD) laban sa mga kargamento dahil sa paglabag sa RA  10863 o ang  Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), R.A. No. 9711 at sa  D.A. Department Circular No. 04 Series of 2016. “The BOC shall continue to maximize its intelligence resources and capabilities and intensify enforcement measures against unscrupulous importers and their cohorts to combat smuggling attempts, especially those involving agricultural goods which are inimical to our local farmers and businesses,” ani Rubio.
