Poe inilatag ang mga rekomendasyon matapos ang NAIA New Year’s Day glitch

Ibinahagi ni Senator Grace Poe ang matinding pangangailangan para mapagbuti ang teknikal na kapasidad ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

Ito aniya ay dapat sabayan ng pag-upgrade ng mga kritikal na kagamitan para hindi na maulit ang tecnical glitches, partikular na ang nagpatigil sa operasyon ng NAIA noong unang araw ng taon.

“These should be complemented with the roll out of sufficient engineering guidelines and training of accredited engineers who will man the system,” ani Poe sa pag-endorso niya ng committee report ng pinamumunuan niyang Committee on Public Services.

Sabi pa ng senadora: “The January 1 ‘systems failure’ was indeed a confluence of factors and errors. Experts likened it to the planets aligning albeit with an unfortunate consequence. Bihira pero alam nating posibleng mangyari ito, at patuloy na mangyayari kung wala tayong gagawin sa mga problema ng air traffic.”

Pagdidiin niya ang pangunahing layon ng kanilang mga rekomendasyon ay matiyak ang kaligtasan ng mga pasahero.

Bukod dito inirekomenda din ni Poe ang pagpapatayo ng panibagong Communications, Navigation, and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) sa isa pang lugar, pag-aralan ang rekomendasyon para sa pagsasa-pribado ng NAIA, pagsunod ng CAAP sa mga rekomendasyon ng  International Civil Aviation Organization at pagbuo ng Philippine Transportation Safety Board, Philippine Airports Authority Act at pagsasabatas ng Air Passengers Bill of Rights.
