Tourist spots sa Mindoro apektado na ng oil spill; Mimaropa, Visayas binabantayan

Inanunsiyo ng Department of Tourism (DOT) na apektado na ang oil spill ang ilang tourist destinations sa Oriental Mindoro at mga kalapit na probinsiya.

Bunga nito, ipinag-utos ni Sec. Christina Frasco sa kanilang regional offices sa MIMAROPA at Eastern Visayas na bantayan ang sitwasyon at agad makipag-ugnayan sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), at mga lokal na pamahalaan hinggil sa epekto ng pagtagas ng langis mula sa lumubog na MT Princess Enpress sa dagat na sakop ng Naujan, Oriental Mindoro.

Sa bayan ng Pola, apektado na ang ilang  Marine Protected Areas ipartikular na ang KingFisher Reserve, St. John the Baptist Marine Sanctuary, Song of the Sea Fish Sanctuary, Stella Mariz Fish Sanctuary, Bacawan Fish Sanctuary, St. Peter the Rock Fish Sanctuary, at  San Isidro Labrador Fish Sanctuary.

Ang mga apektadong beach resorts naman ay ang Bihiya Beach, 3 Cottage, Long Beach K. I, Aguada Beach Resort, Oloroso Beach Resort, Munting Buhangin Tagumpay Beach Resort, at Buhay na Tubig White Beach Resort, lahat sa  Oriental Mindoro.

Sinabi ni Frasco na nagsasagawa na ng coastal clean-up sa mga apektadong lugar para maiwasan na ang dagdag pang pinsala.

Ayon sa kalihim kilala ang ilang mga apektadong lugar bilang diving spots at cruise tourism.
