P2.5-M donasyon ng Senado sa Turkey, Syria earthquake victims

Humugot ng tig-P100,000 ang 23 senador at P200,000 mula kay Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri para sa kabuuang P2.5 milyon na kanilang donasyon sa mga biktima ng magnitude 7.8 earthquake sa Turkiye at Syria.

Inaprubahan din ang Senate Resolution No. 49 ni Sen. Raffy Tulfo, Minority Leader Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, Sens Imee Marcos, Francis Tolentino at  Lito Lapid na nagpapahayag ng pakikisimpatiya sa mga biktima ng lindol.

Sinabi ni Zubiri ang kanilang donasyon ay ibibigay sa Red Crescent Society ng Turkiye sa pamamagitan ng Philippine Red Cross, na pinamumunuan ni dating Sen. Richard Gordon.

“We are happy to help the people of Turkey and Syria. Inshallah, the day will come when you will rise from all these devastations….will rise from the ashes and will create an even stronger society in Turkey,”  ani Zubiri.

Nagbigay din ng kanya-kanyang mensahe sina Tulfo, Tolentino at Revilla.

Ipadadala ang kopya ng resolusyon sa Turkiye at Syria sa pamamagitan naman ng Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) at Embahada ng Pilipinas sa dalawang bansa.

Nabatid na 47,244 na ang kumpirmadong nasawi sa nangyaring lindol at libo-libo pa ang nangangailangan ng mga pagkain.
