Mayon plane crash retrieval operation tinapos na

Naibaba na kagabi sa Barangay Anoling ang mga labi ng ikaapat na biktima ng pagbagsak ng isang Cessna 340A aircraft sa Bulkang Mayon.

Bunga nito, inanunsiyo ni Camalig, Albay Mayor Carlos Irwin Baldo na tapos na ang retrieval operations na isinagawa para makuha ang mga labi mula sa halos bibig na ng bulkan.

Kinilala ang mga biktima na sina Capt. Rufino James Crisostomo Jr., flight mechanic Joel Martin, Simon Chipperfield at Karthi Santhanam, kapwa Australian consultants ng Energy Development Corp.

“The search and rescue operations for Cessna 340A ran for more than 5 days until operations were shifted from rescue to retrieval, following the confirmation of the 4 passengers’ actual location, identity, and situation,” ang social media post ni Baldo.

Magugunita na umaga ng Pebrero 18 nang lumipad ang eroplano mula sa Bicol International Airport patungo sa NAIA, ngunit makalipas lamang ang ilang minuto ay naputol na ang komunikasyon.

Makalipas ang halos dalawang araw, natagpuan ang eroplano sa gilid ng bulkan at ilang araw pa ang lumipas bago naabot ang crash site ng mga rescuers mula sa Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, Bureau of Fire Protection at ng local mountaineers.

Sinabi ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) na mali ang nalipadan ng eroplano base sa lugar kung saan ito bumagsak.
