P500 milyong pondo para sa cancer patients, inilabas na ng DBM
Inilabas na ng Department of Budget and Management ang P500 pondo para sa Cancer Assistance Fund ng Department of Health.
Laan ang pondo para sa mga Filipino na nakararanas ng sakit na cancer.
Ayon kay Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman, ang pondo ay bahagi ng comprehensive fund releases.
Gagamitin ang pondo para sa mga pasyente na hindi saklaw ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) at ang mga partially covered ng Malasakit Program.
Saklaw din ng pondo ang mga outpatient.
“For many years, cancer has been one of the leading causes of death in the country. Sadly, Filipino families, even those in the upper-income brackets, are vulnerable to catastrophic health spending due to high treatment costs and limited coverage of cancer care under public programs,” pahayag ni Pangandaman.
