Ping Remulla bagong Cavite 7th district representative

Anak ni Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla ang sumalo ng kanyang posisyon bilang kinatawan sa Kamara ng ika-pitong distrito ng Cavite.

Iprinoklama ng Commission on Elections si Crispin Diego Remulla bilang kapalit ng nakakatandang Remulla, na iniwan ang posisyon matapos italaga ni Pangulong Marcos Jr., bilang kalihim ng Department of Justice.

Tinalo ni Remulla, na nakakiuha ng 98,474 boto, ang tatlo pang kandidato, sina dating Trece Martires Mayor  Melencio de Sagun Jr. (46,530), Jose Angelito Aguinaldo (1,610) at Michael Angelo Santos (1,068).

Samantala, labis na panghihinayang naman ang naramdaman ni Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia sa napakababang bilang ng mga bumutong rehistradong botante.

Nabatid na may 355,184 rehistradong botante sa distrito, ngunit 149,581 o 42.11% pa lamang ang bumoto.

“To a certain extent, nakakapanghinayang ‘yung nagagastos na pondo ng taongbayan tapos ang boboto lang ay kakaunti,” ani Garcia.

Ayon pa sa opisyal nakabibinbin lamang ang disqualification case na inihain ni Sagun laban kay Remulla dahil sa diumanoy paggamit ng pera ng taumbayan sa pangangampaniya.
