Munisipalidad ng Carmona sa Cavite, isa ng siyudad
Nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang bagong batas na nagdedeklara sa munisipalidad ng Carmona, Cavite bilang isang component city.
Nilagdaan ng Pangulo ang Republic Act Number 11938 o “An Act Converting the Municipality of Carmona in the Province of Cavite into a component city to be known as the City of Carmona” noong Pebrero 23, 2023.
Inaatasan ang munisipalidad ng Carmona na magsagawa ng plebisito sa loob ng 60 araw para aprubahan ang bagong batas.
“Present elective officials of the Municipality of Carmona shall continue to exercise their powers and functions until such time that a new election is held and the duly-elected officials shall have already qualified and assumed their offices,” saad ng bagong batas.
“Appointive officials and employees of the Municipality of Carmona shall, likewise, continue exercising their functions and duties and they shall automatically be absorbed by the City Government of the City of Carmona,” dagdag ng bagong batas.
Wala namang increase sa rates of local taxes sa susunod na limang taon.
“Until otherwise provided by law, the City of Carmona shall continue to be part of the Fifth Legislative District of the Province of Cavite,” saad ng RA 11938.
Magiging epektibo ang bagong batas 15 araw matapos ang publication sa Official Gazette o sa mga pahayagan na mayroong general publication
