RCEP malaking pakinabang sa mga magsasaka ayon sa NEDA

Pinakakalma ng National Economic and Development Authority ang mga magsasaka na nangangambang malulugi kapag naratipikahan na ng bansa ang Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

Ayon kay NEDA Secretary Arsenio Balisacan, Malaki ang pakinabang ng Pilipinas kapag na-ratipikahan ang RCEP.

Matutulungan kasi ang mga magsasaka sa mega trade deal dahil mas magiging competitive at produktibo na ito.

“It must be ratified. The future of our country depends so much on our ability to attract investors, particularly foreign capital because the domestic capital is not enough… By being a member, we are saying to the world that we are ready for business, we play the rules of the game well, and your investments are safe with us,” pahayag ni Balisacan.

Minaliit din ni Balisacan ang kritisismo ng ilan na masasaktan lamang ang sector ng agrikultura ng RCEP.

“With regards to the allegation that the agricultural sector will be hurt, there’s no truth to that… whether or not there is RCEP, we need to invest in agriculture. Kinakailangan nating ma-address ‘yung mga concerns,” pahayag ni Balisacan.

“‘Yung mga problema ngayon ng agriculture has nothing to do with RCEP. The problems were outcomes of past neglects of the sector,” dagdag ni Balisacan.

Kapag na-ratipikahan aniya ang RCEP, maoobliga ang pamahalaan na pagtuunan ng pansin ang agrikultura.

“The country will be even more forced to pay attention to agriculture because only then can you fully maximize the benefits that RCEP can give to us,” pahayag ni Balisacan.

Ang RCEP ay free trade agreement (FTA) sa pagitan ng 10 bansa na kasapi sa Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)  at limang FTA partners kagaya ng Australia, China, Japan, New Zealand at Republic of Korea.
Una nang sinabi ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na Malaki ang pakinabang ng bansa sa RCEP.
