Sa naunang pahayag ng kagawaran, noon lamang Enero 28 na-‘sequenced’ ang nakolektang specimen mula sa pasyente noong Disyembre.
Kombinasyon na ng Omicron variants ang XBF at ito ang itinuturong dahilan nang pagdami ng COVID 19 cases sa Australia at Sweden.
“Further, global experts are still characterizing the variant in terms of transmissibility, immune evasion, and ability to cause more severe disease,” pahayag ng DOH.
