Tokyo, Japan—Pirmado na ng Pilipinas at Japan ang pitong kasunduan na may kinalaman sa mutual cooperation kasama na ang humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, infrastructure, agriculture at digital cooperation.

Kabilang sa mga nilagdaan ang Exchange of Notes on Japanese Official Development Project: North-South Commuter Railway Extension (NSCR) Project (II) o NSCR; Exchange of Notes on Japanese Official Development Project: NSCR – Malolos to Tutuban Project (II); Loan Agreement para sa NSCR Extension Project (II); Loan Agreement para sa NSCR- Malolos hanggang Tutuban Project (II); Umbrella Term of Reference (TOR) on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Cooperation; Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) sa pagitan ng Department of Agriculture (DA) at Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries on Agriculture Cooperation; at Memorandum of Contract sa Field of Information and Communications Technology.

Saksi sina Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. at Prime Minister Fumio Kishida sa exchange ofdocuments.

Sina Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Secretary Enrique Manalo, Department of Finance (DOF) Secretary Benjamin Diokno at Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban ang lumagda sa ilang kasunduan sa Tokyo, Japan.

Sabi ni Diokno, ngayong pirmado na ang pitong kasunduan, asahan nang mas marami pang dayuhan ang mahihikayat na maglagak ng negosyo sa bansa.

“It will increase the economic activity in those three regions and it will of course attract more foreign investors. Kasi in the past we have underinvested in infrastructure. I remember during the last 50 years parang two percent lang ng GDP ang dinevote natin sa ekonomiya and as a result we suffer in comparison with our ASEAN neighbors,” pahayag ni Diokno.

“Noong time ni Digong (dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte) we tried to start the Build Build Build no so we devoted something like 5 to 6 percent and ngayon ipagpapatuloy pa natin. But with a twist. Ngayon we will encourage the private sector to get involved in the Build Better More program of the President, ang objective naman nun, right now marami naman talaga tayong mga ready to implement projects. Ito easily around 200 ready to implement projects and this is all part of that.
