Pangulong Marcos Jr., nalungkot sa 8.7% January inflation rate

Labis na nalungkot  si PangulongMarcos Jr. sa paghataw sa 8.7 percent ng inflation o pagtaas ng presyo ng mga bilihin noong Enero.

Ayon sa Pangulo, nangangahulugan kasi ito na hindi pa tumatakab ang mga ginawang hakbang ng pamahalaan.

Aniya asahan na sa  pagsapit ng ikalawang bahagi ng taon, bababa na ang inflation dahil bumaba na rin ang presyo ng mga produktong petrolyo at imported agricultural products.

“As I said, the importation of many of the agricultural products, which have been a large part of the inflation rate… we have already taken some measures so that the supply will be greater and so that will bring the prices down but that will take a little time,”  dagdag ng Pangulo.

Kumpiyansa ito  na habang bumababa ang presyo ng produktong petrolyo at agricultural products, tiyak na bubulusok ang ang inflation.

“The global fight against inflation, Russia’s war in Ukraine, and a resurgence of COVID-19 in China weighed on global economic activity in 2022, and the first two factors will continue to do so in 2023,” pahayag ng Pangulo.

Sa pagtaya ng IMF, ang global growth ay bababa sa 2.9 percent sa 2023 pero tataas sa 3.1 percent sa 2024.

Ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority, ang 8.7 percent na inflation noong Enero ay mas mabilis sa 8.1 percent na naitala noong Disyembre 2022.

Umaasa ang economic managers ni Pangulong Marcos na magiging moderate ang inflation sa 2023 hanggang sa 2024.
