Brazilian firm, magnenegosyo ng asukal sa bansa

Isa pang international firm ang nangakong maglalagak ng negosyo sa bansa.

Ayon kay Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., nangako ang Brazilian firm na DATAGRO na tutulungan ang sugar sufficiency at ethanol production sa bansa.

Nakuha ng Pangulo ang DATAGRO matapos ang pakikipagpulong sa mga opisyal ng Department of Agriculture (DA), Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), DATAGRO, at Private Sector Advisory Council (PSAC) sa Palasyo ng Malakanyang.

Kumpiyansa ang Pangulo na lalakas ang industriya ng asukal sa bansa.

“I’m very optimistic… that a long-term program to increase production and profitability in the sugar industry is possible… in the Philippines,” pahayag ng Pangulo.

Nabatid na ang DATAGRO ang tumulong sa pag-develop sa sugar industry sa Brazil na pinakamalaking producer at exporter ng asukal at ethanol.

Balak ng DATAGRO na magsagawa ng pilot testing sa Negros at Panay Islands.

Ang Demo plots ay nasa 1,000; 5,000; at 10,000 hectares.

Inatasan ng Pangulo ang DA at PSAC na magsumite ng rekomendasyon para maitulak ang proyekto.

“So we had to put the farm next to them so they can see that it works. They say that ‘if my neighbor can do it, I can do it too.’ And if you can show them you make more money doing it, then they will transfer,” dagdag ng Pangulo.

“And that’s what we need to do, in a sense. And so we have to demonstrate it. We have a process here in the Philippines which is called a techno-demo, which is a demonstration of new technology. So techno-demo, that’s what we will have to conduct,” ayon sa Pangulo.
