Tax evasion charges na may halagang P3.58B isinampa ng BIR

Nagsampa ng kabuuang 74 tax evasion complaints ang Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) laban sa ilang indibiduwal at korporasyon.

Mismong si BIR Comm. Romeo Lumagui Jr., ang nagsampa ng kanilang reklamo sa Department of Justice (DOJ).

Ang hakbang ay alinsunod sa Run After Tax Evader (RATE) program ng kawanihan.

‘We would like to remind tax evaders that the BIR is serious in pursuing its enforcement activities on a national scale,” ani Lumagui.

Kabilang sa mga isinampa ay mga paglabag tulad ng willful failure to pay taxes, willful attempt to evade or defeat the payment of taxes due, at willful failure to pay/remit its income tax liabilities.

Kabilang sa mga reklamo ang isang may halagang P96.6 milyon.

Nagmula ang ilan sa mga reklamo sa BIR – Large Taxpayers Collection and Enforcement Division at kanilang regional offices sa Makati City, Caloocan City, South National Capital Region, Cebu City, Cagayan de Oro City, at Butuan.
