WW2 ‘Comfort Women’ hindi isyu sa Japan visit ni PBBM Jr.

Walang balak si i Pangulong Marcos Jr. na pag-usapan ang isyu  ng Filipina comfort women sa pagbisita niya sa Japan sa susunodna linggo.

Sinabi ito ni Foreign Affairs Asec. Neal Imperial dahil aniya matagal nang natuldukan ang isyu.

Tinutukoy ng comfort women ang mga Filipina na nakaranas ng pang-aabuso at panggahasa sa kamay ng mga sundalong Hapon noong World War II.

Sa naturang panahon maraming Filipina ang napilitan din sa prostitusyon.

“We don’t expect it to be raised but the position of the Philippines on this issue is that compensation claims by former comfort women is considered to be already settled as far as the government is concerned. All war-related claims are deemed to have been settled by our 1956 reparations agreement with Japan,” pahayag ni Imperial.

Nilinaw naman ni Imperial na hindi haharangin ng gobyerno ang hakbang na private claims ng mga biktima.
