Ayon kay Foreign Affairs Asec. Neal Imperial, pitong bilateral documents o agreements ang lalagdaan sa official working visit ng Pangulo para sa infrastructure development, defense, agriculture, information and communications technology.
Paiigtingin din ng Pangulo ang relasyon ng Pilipinas saa Japan sa seguridad, pulitikal, ekonomiya at people to people ties.
Magkakaroon din ng bilateral meeting si Pangulong Marcos kay Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida sa Pebrero 9 na una nang nagkausap sa United Nations General Assembly sa New York noong nakaraang Setyembre.
“Japan has also been the country’s biggest bilateral source of active official development assistance or ODA, providing concessional loans to finance important infra and capacity building projects, social safety net programs, education, agriculture and science and technology support, and many other high impact programs,” pahayag ni Imperial.
Makikipagpulong din ang Pangulo sa mga chief executive officers ng Japanese shipping companies at association para maisulong ang global competitiveness ng mga Filipino seafarers pati na ang maritime education at welfare programs.
Mahalaga ang pagbisita ng Pangulo sa Japan dahil ito ang ikalawang pinakamalaking trading partner ng Pilipinas at ikatlong pinakamalaking export market at ikalawang top source ng imports.
Isa ang Japan sa dalawang strategic partner ng Pilipinas. Ang isa ay ang Vietnam.
