Pinoy patay sa California Chinese New Year massacre

Kabilang ang isang 68-anyos na Filipino-American sa 11 katao na namatay sa pamamaril sa   Monterey Park, California  sa isang Chinese New Year party.

Kinilala ng Philippine Consulate General sa Los Angeles ang nasawing Filipino-American na si Valentino Alvero.

Nagpahayag ng pagkabigla at labis na pagkalungkot ang konsulado sa nangyaring panibagong ‘mass shooting’ sa US.

“Our prayers go out to the families of the victims and we mourn with them during this lunar new year festival, which is supposed to be a time of gathering and celebration,” ayon pa sa pahayag.

May siyam iba pa na nasugatan sa insidente na nangyari sa loob ng isang dance studio.

Kinilala naman ang salarin na si Huu Can Tran, 72-anyos na mula sa China at naaresto na noong 1990 dahil sa ilegal na pag-iingat ng baril.
